Sailing With Archè

At Archè, we view sailing as an opportunity for connection, discovery and personal growth. Activities on Lake Caldonazzo encourage connection with the natural environment, teamwork and respect for each individual’s pace, within a welcoming and people-centred setting.

Archè works with groups of people with disabilities or reduced mobility, children and young people, and families with children.

We regularly collaborate with organisations to create tailored programmes. We can organise multiple sessions on the same day, allowing the whole group to experience the thrill of sailing. Alternatively, we can create a staged programme with several outings throughout the summer, enabling participants to deepen their knowledge of the discipline over time.

Training dinghies: an introduction to sailing

Our training dinghies are light, responsive boats without cabins that allow participants to immediately experience the effects of the wind, rudder and sails. Unlike more agile racing boats, our training dinghies are designed to be stable and forgiving of beginners’ small mistakes. They are used both for first experiences of sailing and for more advanced learning. These boats are ideal for learning the basics of navigation, developing a relationship with the wind and water, and enjoying the experience of being on board together.

Up to five people can board Archè’s Trident dinghy. You will be accompanied by professionals with expertise in both education and sailing, who can adapt the experience to the needs of the group while working on technical skills, wellbeing and relationships between participants.

Hansa 303: inclusive sailing

The Hansa 303 is a sailing dinghy specifically designed to make navigation accessible, safe and adaptable for people with different abilities and levels of experience. These modern boats are internationally recognised, including within Paralympic sailing, while also being perfectly suited to introductory sailing activities in social and educational settings.

Archè uses the double version of the Hansa 303, which allows two people to sail together, encouraging support, connection and a shared experience on board.

Sailing as a pair involves sharing decisions, sensations and responsibilities within an environment that values autonomy and mutual support. The double Hansa 303 is not just a boat, but a genuine educational and relational space on the water.

Hansa 303: features

One of its key features is the weighted swing keel, which ensures excellent stability and virtually eliminates the risk of capsizing. This makes the boat particularly suitable for people trying their hand at sailing for the first time, as well as for people with reduced mobility.
The boat is designed for simplified handling:

  • the sheets are lightweight and easy to reach;
  • the central joystick steering system is smooth and precise;
  • the sail is furling and compact in size, designed to be handled without excessive effort.

Thanks to these features, the Hansa 303 allows everyone to participate actively, developing confidence, autonomy and awareness of their role on board. It fully embodies Archè’s vision of sailing as a shared, accessible experience that respects diversity.

Malupa 5.0: an accessible sailing boat

The Malupa 5.0 is an accessible dinghy designed for introductory sailing activities in educational and social settings. Thanks to its stability, Archè’s customisations and its ease of handling, it allows people with reduced mobility or little experience to fully enjoy being out on the lake. The Malupa 5.0 is an important tool for promoting autonomy, confidence and active participation during the experience on the water.
It allows wheelchair users to board together with four other people and enjoy a shared group experience on the lake.

The C-Crane dock lift

The C-Crane dock lift, manufactured in Australia (hansasailing.com), allows people with reduced or no mobility to board our boats safely while leaving their wheelchair on the dock.
