SUP works muscles, breathing and concentration in a balanced and harmonious way. During our outings, we focus on balance and coordination, posture and body awareness, endurance and strength, as well as relaxation and wellbeing. Sessions can also include adventure games, skill-based challenges and diving activities. At Archè, we offer SUP activities for groups of people with intellectual or sensory disabilities, children and young people, and families with children.
SUP surfing
Stand Up Paddle (SUP) is a form of surfing in which participants stand on a board and move across the water using a paddle for propulsion. Originally from Hawaii, this sport has grown considerably in popularity in recent years, including in Italy and on the lakes of Trentino, as it is easy to learn, accessible and fun!
However, SUP surfing is much more than a sport: it’s an experience that fosters a connection with the water and the surrounding natural environment. On Lake Caldonazzo, one of Trentino’s warmest and calmest lakes, Archè offers SUP activities designed for people who want to learn the discipline gradually, including complete beginners.

We regularly collaborate with organisations to create tailored programmes. We can organise multiple sessions on the same day, allowing the whole group to try SUP. Alternatively, we offer staged programmes with several outings throughout the summer, enabling participants to deepen their knowledge of the discipline over time.
For people with intellectual or sensory disabilities, or neurodivergent participants, Archè has developed a dedicated teaching programme based on exercises and best practices designed to support each person’s independence through an individualised approach. The programme is called SUP ABILITY, and its methodology has been developed over the years by professionals in collaboration with the Universities of Trento (Department of Psychology and Cognitive Science) and Verona (Department of Sport and Exercise Sciences).

FAQs
How many lessons will I need to learn SUP?
There is no fixed number of sessions, as everyone has different learning times and a different relationship with the water. Our approach always puts you as an individual first, which is why we begin with an introductory session.
During this first session, we will get on the board together for a practice run on Lake Caldonazzo. After this trial run, and after assessing your confidence level and goals together, we will create a personalised programme, defining the ideal number of lessons to help you reach full autonomy in complete safety.
